Only 65% of the country’s slaughter is classified by 78 companies. In order to reach 100%, the government has made changes in the regulations that determine the conditions for bovine typing. The resolution classifies the animal after slaughter according to its category, age, sex, finish and makes requirements more flexible to facilitate its adoption, such as the choice of identification systems. (Government of Argentina)

Matba-Rofex, that operates in the negotiation of future contracts for agri products, carried out the first tokenization of silos in the country. In the first operation, more than 5,000 tonnes were tokenized, with a value of more than US$ 1.6 million. This process brings more visibility and traceability to agricultural assets, and allows silo exchanges to be used as collateral in future operations, expanding the options of available financial assets. “It is a significant advance in the modernization of the grain market in Argentina”, said the company. Researchers have developed a soybean that produces 60% of its pods with four seeds. The technology has a direct impact on soybean yield, as current commercial varieties produce less than 7% of pods with four grains. “The trait studied showed a high degree of heritability, that is, genetic determination, which is why it was always present”, said Julieta Bianchi, lead researcher of the study.
