According to Raquel Buenrostro, secretary of economy, the concerns of the USA will be addressed, that demand that the Mexican government must adopt a scientifically based approach to the prohibition of the imports of GMO corn. “In the new drafting proposal, an article was added that determines that the GMO corn will have scientifically based evaluations by Cofepris, that is our sanitary regulatory authority… If Cofepris says that the product does not cause any harm, the product can enter” , said Buenrostro.
