National Agricultural Health Service announces that in 2023 it should obtain phytosanitary authorizations guaranteeing access to more than 10 new markets for the export of agricultural products: fresh grape to Japan, Chile and Israel; citrus to New Zealand and Vietnam; pomegranate to Mexico; avocado to Malaysia and the Philippines; mango to Malaysia; blueberry to Indonesia; pepper to Argentina; saffron, pitahaya and aguaymanto (Physalis peruviana) for the USA. Technical manager of the National Institute of Meteorology, Yamandu Morán, declared that little rain is expected in the country, a condition aggravated by La Niña, that is now in its third consecutive year. “It’s a really strange event, not seen for 40 years, similar to the droughts of 1988 and 1989, but with more intense heat.” He also added that the entire national territory will continue to record temperatures above normal averages.
