Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock – MAPA confirmed that it will extend the August 24th deadline for holders to enter pesticide component registrations and their respective trade names into the Unified Electronic Information, Petition and Assessment System – SISPA.
Established under Law No. 14785 of December 27th, 2023, SISPA was created as a single electronic system for assessing pesticide registration applications and registration amendments. It enables companies to submit applications electronically and track their progress across the three federal authorities involved in pesticide registration in Brazil: MAPA, Anvisa and Ibama.
The current deadline was established by Ordinance SDA/MAPA No. 1631 of May 26th, 2026. According to MAPA, the extension considers the time required to implement system improvements, the need for further discussions with associations representing the component industry and the time requested by regulated companies to complete the required registrations.
The ordinance formalizing the extension is still undergoing internal administrative procedures. MAPA has not yet announced the new deadline or implementation schedule, which will be disclosed once the amendment is finalized and officially published.
