Raízen sold the sugar and ethanol mill in the city of Caarapó, State of Mato Grosso do Sul, to Adecoagro for US$ 149.3 million, including the transfer of sugarcane and raw material supply contracts associated to the facility. Currently undergoing out-of-court bankruptcy protection and debt reorganization, Raízen will operate 23 mills, with a crushing capacity of 69 million tonnes per harvest. (Raízen)
Brazilian exports increased by 6.7% in July when compared with the same period in 2025, reaching US$ 19.38 billion, with a trade surplus of US$ 4.95 billion. In the agricultural sector, exports increased by 6.5%, reaching US$ 4.31 billion, driven mainly by tobacco, soybeans and cotton. (MDIC)
The Brazilian Government authorized the creation of financing programs for farmers and cooperatives to renegotiate rural debts. Provisional Measure No. 1376 establishes annual interest rates ranging from 6% to 12% and repayment terms of up to eight years, with the first principal payment due after two years. For farmers more severely affected by extreme weather events, rates range from 5% to 11% and repayment terms may reach ten years. (Presidency of the Republic; MAPA)

Chilean asset manager Toesca acquired approximately 800-hectare Ñuble Alto farmland to develop a hazelnut project in the Ñuble Region. Following the transaction, the Toesca Permanent Crops II fund surpassed US$50 million in committed investments and expanded its portfolio to 1,485 hectares across three regions of Chile. A group of lawmakers called for the dismissal of resolutions issued by the Ministry of Agriculture establishing Food Production Protection Areas and Food Production Protection Zones. From August 2022 to June 2026, the National Land Agency decided 3,669 agrarian proceedings involving more than 1 million hectares. Of this total, 335 thousand hectares were declared national public lands and incorporated into the National Land Fund. (ANT)
Wheat exports from the 2025 season, from October 2025 to June 2026, reached 602,700 tonnes , up 137,700 tonnes (+30%) from the same period of the previous season. Considering the 1H26, from January to June, shipments totaled 425,200 tonnes and reached US$ 92.4 million. Brazil accounted for 99% of the volume. Trade associations warned new tolls and tariffs on the Paraguay–Paraná Waterway could increase foreign trade costs. The statement questions the continued charge, by Argentina, of US$ 1.30 per net registered tonne and calls for transparency, user consultation and an integrated assessment of the impacts on products such as soybeans, meal, oil, fuels and agricultural inputs. ProInversión, a public agency responsible for promoting private investment in infrastructure, launched the promotion process for a new concession covering the Olmos Project’s water transfer works. The initiative involves an estimated investment of US$ 400 million and a 50-year operating term. The presentation brought together 45 Peruvian and international companies. The project includes water infrastructure serving 25 thousand new agricultural hectares and 5.5 thousand hectares in the old Olmos valley. (ProInversión)
