Brazilian Lower House of Congress approved a Bill prohibing the expropriation of land
In response to a statement from Alexandre Bompard, global CEO at Carrefour, about suspending sales of beef from Mercosur in the company’s stores in France, the Argentine Sustainable Beef Roundtable published a note in opposition to the commercial protectionism stance adopted by the supermarket chain. According to the note, signed by the president of the association, Carlos Baron, the attitude harms commercial relations and weakens global efforts for more sustainable livestock farming. (MACS)

Brazil accumulated 1.7 million bags of unshipped coffee by October because of multiple delays and changes in the schedule of ships for export. “These bottlenecks and losses show that our ports have not evolved in a satisfactory and proportional way… especially in the case of products that are exported by container,” said Eduardo Heron, technical director of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé)

President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said on November 26th, she will send a letter to the President-elect of the USA, Donald Trump, asking for dialogue and cooperation after his promise to impose 25% tariffs on products from Mexico and Canada. “For one tariff another will come and so on, until we put our common businesses at risk”, Sheinbaum said during a press conference.
